The William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies was honored to receive the Colombian National War College (ESDEGUE) Military Medal in Bogota, Colombia. Presented by one of the leading defense education institutions in the Americas, this award recognizes the Perry Center’s longstanding commitment and numerous contributions to the fields of security, defense, and strategic studies. “The Perry Center is honored to be recognized in this way,” said Director Mark Wilkins. “To be lauded for our work by a partner institution that has, in its own right, made such sustained, meaningful contributions to hemispheric security is a great tribute.”
ESDEGUE educates and trains senior officers of the Colombian armed forces and international partners as well-rounded leaders in the fields of national security and defense. Over the past century, ESDEGUE has solidified its reputation as the premier venue for military strategic thinking in Colombia. Through an internationalist lens, ESDEGUE promotes joint strategic doctrine as the means for winning military engagements, consolidating peace, and contributing to the human and social development in Colombia and the Americas.
